An Atypical Derby ~ 2007

And they're off!

Well, this weekend was spent celebrating the Derby, by not being a part of it! We went to the Troubadours' land, the As You Wish Woods and had a wonderfully relaxing time. We camped out, socialized, communed and had a healing circle.

We spent a lot of time discussing current events, our upcoming show and well, it was just a fabulous social experience.

They took us on a hike through part of the Hoosier National Forest to this area that had some natural waterfalls and huge rock formations! We had to climb up some slippery rocks and it was quite steep. We took Bruiser and Pig Pig and they couldn't have enjoyed themselves any more than they did! They were quite the troopers on the hilly terrain and they proved themselves, once again, to be 'trail-rated'!

The healing circle was lead mostly by our friend, John. He is of American-Indian heritage and carries many traditions, stories, songs and healing techniques with him. He collected us all around the fire and performed some ancient healing songs and cleansed us with some mystical sage and hand-picked (from the Troubadours forest) some cedar to also incorporate into his ceremony. It was truly healing and magical and the benefits are sure to be seen in the unfolding of the next several days and weeks.

Sunday morning was spent recuperating from the night before and feasting on some english muffins, danishes and coffee. The sun was brilliant in the country air and we managed to also get a fair dose of Vitamin-D and boy, did it lift my spirits. Sitting in that sun, with some magical friends and well, my heart is again, full and ready to runneth over!

Be Peace Now.
